What's New

10 years on the Web, and counting

Ten tears ago this web site began. In 1996 the only way to have a web site was to hand code each html line using a text editor. At the time my office computer ran on IBM’s OS/2, which was ahead of the pack in net awareness. So we timidly entered the puddle, which has grown to become an ocean. We are glad you’ve joined us along the way.

Apollo 15 - The Case of the Missing Control Panels

The newest study by our president, John Fongheiser, investigates what has happened to some flown Apollo spacecraft hardware. Many hours of research have revealed interesting details about Apollo Program history.

Artifacts FOR SALE

We have expanded our Artifacts section to include Artifacts FOR SALE. Here you can browse and shop for actual spacecraft parts and related items. There is something for everyone. A PayPal shopping cart simplifies ordering. The selection will be updated frequently, so please check back often.

Spacecraft Simulators, etc.

Now in development is a wheel chair accessible Mercury Flight Simulator. Check out the preliminary information on this exciting addition to our line of simulators.

We are truly proud of  our newest exhibits. One is a wheel chair accessible Space Shuttle Landing Simulator. It is currently installed at The Space Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

We have also completed a Lunar Landing Simulator. One is installed at the Neil Armstrong Museum, and another is at the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, CA.

A Gemini Docking Simulator for the Neil Armstrong Museum is also now installed. It uses high fidelity graphical models of the Gemini spacecraft and Agena Target Vehicle. We are excited about this exhibit, our first software project. See more details with screen shots, at right.

On the Drawing Board

In our spare time (what’s that?) we are creating computer models of spacecraft hardware in preparation for future physical models. These reference actual spacecraft drawings for very high fidelity and accuracy. For examples see what’s In the Works, including the Gemini mirror assembly, the Gemini hatch latch, and the Apollo Hatch Hinge.
