  • Brass penlight or flashlight for use by the individual astronaut.
  • Used in training by Apollo 17 Command Module Pilot Ron Evans.
  • NASA photo shows Evans preparing to enter the spacecraft. His flight penlight can be seen in a pouch of his space suit below the flag.
  • In addition to the penlights carried by the astronauts, two penlights were typically stowed in the Apollo Command Module.
